What can we do to keep our brains healthy?
- Eat well - healthy food provides nutrients to help the brain work at its best. Good foods to eat include fish, fruits, and fresh vegetables.
- Exercise - when we exercise our bodies, we increase circulation and blood flow, providing more oxygen to our brain cells!
- Rest - when we sleep, scientists believe that our brains process and organise the events and experiences that we have had during the day.
- Think - thinking exercises our brain. Good things to do include puzzles, art, making music, and reading. Doing these things make connections that strengthen our brains and help them to work better.
- Take care - to protect our brains. Wear a helmet when doing activities where we might fall or hit our heads (cycling or horse riding, for example), and always use a seat belt in a car.
- Don’t use alcohol or drugs, which can damage the brain.
- Socialise, and enjoy being with other people.

Plastic
In the health sector, plastic is a reliable material used for a whole host of purposes such as catheters, protective gloves and lifesaving valves, meaning plastic provides world-class healthcare that is hygienic and prevents infection. At face value, plastic is bad and there is no denying that. plastics and their ingredients are pervading our oceans and waterways, invading the bodies of humans and wildlife, and filling landfills (with new and once recycled plastic) the Ecology Center recommends eliminating plastics from your life, as much as possible. Plastic is durable and provides protection from contaminants and the elements. ... It reduces food waste by preserving food and increasing its shelf life. It protects food against pests, microbes and humidity.

Plastic Pollution
Point 3 - we can reuse plastic bags making cloth and shoes.
Point 4 - We can Reuse Coffee Creamer Containers for Snack Storage.
Point 5 - Make a DIY of Plastic Bottle Planter. |
Over 1 million marine animals (including mammals, fish, sharks, turtles, and birds) are killed each year due to plastic debris in the ocean. Currently, it is estimated that there are 100 million tons of plastic in oceans around the world. That is up from about 300 billion only a decade ago. About one trillion single-use plastic bags are used annually across the globe. That's nearly 2 million every minute. More than half a billion plastic straws are used every day around the world.
Plastic pollution on land poses a threat to the plants and animals – including humans who are based on the land. ... Chlorinated plastic can release harmful chemicals into the surrounding soil, which can then seep into groundwater or other surrounding water sources and also the ecosystem of the world.
Plastic makes our lives easier in many ways, but some plastic products contain chemicals that can harm our health – such as bisphenol A or some phthalates.
Chemicals in plastic products.
Bis phenol A – a key ingredient in plastic and resin manufacture.
Phthalates – plastic softeners.

Niuen facts
Fact 1. Niue’s highest point is part of the inland plateau. It is near the settlement of Mutalau. It is 223 feet (about 68 meters) above sea level.
Fact 2
Niue is a large coral island ten miles by seven miles (16 kilometres by 11 kilometres). Some 350 miles (600 kilometres) southeast of Samoa.
Fact 3
Niue has no strategic trade significance and was not annexed by one of the European powers until 1900, long after most other Pacific islands.
Fact 4
Niue was formed by volcanic upheavals; the island sits atop 100-foot (30-meter) cliffs rising straight out of deep ocean. That is why it is sometimes called “the Rock.”
Fact 5
More Niueans live in New Zealand than in Niue.
6. There Used to Be an Elephant on the Island
Yes, in 2015 it was possible to see an elephant on the island when an Asian elephant called Anjalee was flown in to Niue to be quarantined on the island before making her way to the Auckland Zoo in New Zealand.
7. Niue is One of the Last Countries in the World to See the Sunset Each Day
Due to Niue’s position on the International Date Line, Niue is one of the last countries in the world to see the end of the day. In fact, because New Zealand and Niue are on opposite sides of the International Date Line, the Tuesday morning flight from Auckland arrives in Niue on Monday afternoon despite being a three-hour flight.

Once upon a time, there was a turtle that enjoyed taking walks around the lake. While walking one day, the turtle met a speedy rabbit. “ I think slow - movers should not use the road,” said the rabbit laughing. “ The road is for everyone,” said the turtle. “I’ll tell you what” challenge the rabbit “let's have a race.” The turtle agreed and they decided to run to the other side of the forest. The next day all the animals gathered to watch the race. The race started. The rabbit ran ahead as fast as lighting. The turtle was lagging behind. The distance between them was getting bigger and bigger, raising the rabbit’s self - confidence. After running for a little the rabbit noticed carrots beside the road. “ Oh my favorite! “I didn’t have breakfast today,” said the rabbit. “I'll eat these delicious carrots, rest for a while, then I'll resume the race and I'll be the winner, of course. The turtle is still far from me. Meanwhile the turtle was focing on the road. She never stopped and took great pains to continue. As she neared the finished line, the animals hailed and cheered her in support. At the same time the rabbit awoke from his sleep. He decided to run again and started to skip and jumped. Suddenly, he stopped and couldn't believe his eyes. The turtle Was almost at the finish line. That's impossible! He tried to run faster but he couldn't because he was so full. The turtle crossed the finish line and won the race. The turtle looked at the rabbit and said “ Slow and steady wins the race.”all the people cheered for the turtle.
The tortoise won because he was determined and did not stop for a second.
The hare lost because he was overconfident and had taken his win for granted.
During this lock - down people couldn't go to work because they are all close and only the shops and the people who are delivering food to the shops. And also we are doing our school online only the people that there parents are going to work delivery things to the shop.

Taha Wairua
Task description: For my last two taha.
Taha Wairua (Spiritual well-being - personal beliefs)
Taha hinengaro (mental and emotional wellbeing)
I didn't finish Taha Hinengaro but im going to tell you about it.
Exploring your way to wellbeing through taha hinengaro
Carve out a special moment in your day to do something nice for yourself. It could be enjoying a cup of coffee with a hoamahi, listening to your favourite song while you work, or taking a walk around the block to get some fresh air.
Take 10 minutes at the start of the work day to do a group mindfulness meditation. This will help you to focus on the day ahead.
Make a gratitude wall in your lunchroom or another shared workspace – invite people to bring in photos or write down the things they are grateful for in their lives right now. It’s a nice visual reminder of the things that make us feel good, and it’s cool to read what other people are grateful for too!
Create a wellbeing space – somewhere people can go to do their own wellbeing practices such as meditation, karakia or physical exercise.
Take the opportunity during workplace hui (meetings) to ask everyone how they are and really listen to the answers.
Start a wellbeing committee – think of it as a social club, with a wellbeing focus! The goal is to come up with monthly activities for people to get involved in that will give their wellbeing a boost.
Challenge hoamahi to do a walking hui – getting out of your usual work environment and being active will help generate more innovative ideas! Even if you work outdoors it’s a good idea to take yourself away from your normal environment.
Give a compliment – acknowledge someone in your workplace who makes your day that much brighter! It’ll give you warm fuzzies too.
Complete another random act of kindness for someone at your workplace!

The Earth story
sister and jumped into the sea. He further explained that Aloaloalela gave birth to him whilst swimming and he sent his two sons Uatea and Uaale to carry him up from the sea. He told the boy how he had saved his life and cared for him. He then promised to show him his mother and her sister who had run away. He told him to look down and he would see them. The boy did so and beheld his mother and her sister down below. He said “alas, my poor mother and sister, they are being burned by the sun and drenched by the rain - let me go down below to them.” Tagaloaalagi replied “very well, get ready.” He then called Uatea and Uaale and told them to PAGE 24conduct the boy to his mother. They did so and the women were startled to see him. The following conversation then ensued-the boy said to his mother “where do you two come from and the mother replied we ran away from the Sun who was our matai.” The boy then asked “where is your son” and the mother replied that she had given birth to a son whilst swimming in the sea with her sister, She was further asked where the son was now and received a reply that the mother had left it floating on the surface of the sea. The boy then said “I am your son - I was found floating on the surface of the sea by Tagaloaalagi and he sent Uatea and Uaale to pick me up and take me to him.- I was brought to life by Tagaloaalagi and cared for by him until the present time.- Tagaloaalagi one day told me to go below and fill his water bottles. As I was doing this the children of his sister asked me to join in the game of Tagatia and it was decided that whoever the game would have the privilege of hitting the other party with his throwing stick. I won and I thrashed the other boys as agreed upon. The mother of the boys heard the cry and came to see what the trouble was. When she discovered me thrashing them she told me I was a bad boy and commenced to thrash me and told me that I was not a true son of Tagaloalagi. When I returned with the water mater bottles to Tagaloalagi I asked him to tell me the truth and he told me that my real father was the sun and that you were my real mother. I then asked him to let me go to you and here I am, I will return to him and ask him to make your Island beautiful. When the boy returned Tagaloaalagi asked him what he had come for and the boy replied that he had returned to ask Tagaloalagi to be kind and make the Island of his mother and her sister beautiful and provide them with everything they wanted. Tagaloaalagi promised to do so and sent trees of every kind and rain so that the Island became very beautiful and it has remained so down to the present.
